CASHIERING

System Innovators was founded in 1980 to provide computer-based solutions for utility companies and local government administration. The company's founder, Roger Nelson, began developing utility billing systems which included over-the-counter cashiering for collecting payments. These early systems evolved into the industry leading payment processing system - CASHIER for Windows - which were in use by utility and government enterprises all over the United States and internationally in parts of Canada, Ireland, and Australia.

COLLECTIONS

From programmable cash registers to programming PCs with cashiering software. By the 1990's, System Innovators partnered with IBM to provide turnkey solutions in the public sector. More was needed, and SI introduced a new family of products, called RevenueCollector, designed to gather payments from many different sources. With interfacing, self-service payment stations, remittance processors and our CASHIER for Windows to gather, consolidate and report on all types or payment activity - System Innovators set standards and practices sill in use today. We also started adding additional interfaces for internet and phone based payment activity.

A NEW CENTURY

Taking CASHIER and RevenueCollector to a whole new level, SI's realization for a central revenue management platform comes to life with inovah. Streaminling processes, creating efficient reporting, and becoming the "one source for the truth" in many governmental finance offices, inovah brings data together for every scenario,

To continue growing the company and supporting clients, the leadership of SI and Harris came together. In 2008, System Innovators become part of the family at N. Harris Computer, adding Harris' expanding Public Sector Solutions portfolio.

UNPRECEDENTED SOLUTIONS

Between 2010 and 2025, System Innovators re-engineered the inovah platform to meet growing demand for modern, centralized revenue operations. The result was inovah 2 - a stronger, more configurable foundation that unified payments from every channel adn department into one secure hub.

The release of this updated inovah ultimately set the stage for something unprecedented: the industry's first true Enterprise Revenue Management (ERM) solution. By centralizing payment activity, automating reconciliation, enhancing audit controls, and enabling seamless integration across diverse systems, inovah 2 became more than a cashiering platform, it became the blueprint for modern revenue operations. This ERM vision, pioneered by System Innovators, empowered governments to reduce manual effort, increase accuracy, and gain complete visibility into their financial landscape, establishing inovah as the first solution of it's kind and a trusted nationwide standard for revenue management.

We will not stop finding solutions for municipalities in eGovernance. Despite the multitude of processes and the plethora of tech, there is always a need for revenue flow, control, reporting, and audit. System Innovators is committed to our partners in developing solutions that suit the needs of today while preparing for tomorrow. Our product, inovah, continues to set the standard as one of the first POS applications to receive the new PCI-SSF certification. It reminds us of our earliest mottos, which applies even today...
